Dr Sheila Wee

Sheila is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She completed a year-long ICU fellowship at the Royal London Hospital in London, UK. During her fellowship, she also had the opportunity to develop her POCUS skills at St Bartholomew's Hospital. Apart from trauma and POCUS, she also has an interest in Regional Anaesthesia.

Dr Swapna Thampi is a Senior Consultant and the Paediatric Anaesthesia Lead in the Department of Anaesthesia, National University Hospital, Singapore. Wah Tze graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He became a registered specialist in Anaesthesiology in 2007. Dr Lean Lyn Li is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, National University Health System (NUHS), where she also serves as Research Director in the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine.
Her clinical and academic interests include airway management, perioperative care including depth of anaesthesia monitoring and pain medicine. She has a strong commitment to medical education, holding a PgDip in Medical Education, and is also core faculty in the NUHS Anaesthesia Residency Program.

Dr Lee Shu Ying is a paediatric anaesthetist at KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Singapore. She is also a Clinical lecturer at YLL School of Medicine, Duke's/NUS Clinical Adjunct Assist Professor and SingHealth Residency Clinical Physician Faculty.

Prof Hwang Nian Chih

Dr. Nian Chih Hwang, MBBS, FFARCSI, FAMS, GDAcu, graduated with an MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1985. He completed his anaesthesia training at Singapore General Hospital and in the United Kingdom, obtaining the FFARCSI in 1993. From mid-1995 to mid-1996, he undertook further training in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, UK. In 2011, he obtained the Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture from the Ministry of Health, Singapore.
Dr. Hwang currently serves as Senior Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology, Division of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, at Singapore General Hospital, and as Senior Consultant in the Department of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the National Heart Centre, Singapore. He is also a Professor in the MD Program Department at Duke-NUS Medical School and an Adjunct Professor under the Adjunct Clinician Educator Scheme in the Department of Anaesthesia at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
He chairs the SingHealth Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinical Governance Committee and serves as a physician faculty member for the Cardiac Anaesthesia Module, as well as a member of the Core Competency Committee of the SingHealth Anaesthesia Residency Programme. In addition, he works part-time as a Consultant in the Performance Training and Assessment Standards Division at the Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Cheng Shang-Ming completed his undergraduate medical degree at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2003. After internships in Surgery and Medicine and brief stints in Emergency Medicine, he commenced his anaesthesia career in 2005.
He was initially enrolled into Basic Specialist Training Programme in west of Ireland. In 2010, he returned to Singapore and joined KK Women's and Children's Hospital as a resident physician in department of women's anaesthesia. Dr Chan received his degree in Medical Science from the National University of Australia and completed his medical training at Flinders University of South Australia. He relocated to Singapore in 2015 for housemanship and completed his Anaesthesiology residency in 2022.
Dr Chan is currently a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). He has a special interest in regional anaesthesia and co-leads the Regional Anaesthesia Service at Sengkang General Hospital, where he was part of the founding team.
He is actively involved in medical education, serving as core faculty for the SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Programme. He also leads the MMed (Anaesthesiology) Part A Preparation Committee for SGH/SKH, coordinates simulation training for junior medical officers, and teaches across all parts of the MMed examination. Dr Agrawal Rohit Vijay

Dr Rohit obtained his MMed (Anaesthesia) in 2010 and FANZCA in 2012. He continued his learning journey by doing fellowships in critical care and liver transplant anaesthesia under the NUHS AMDA award at the University health network and Toronto General Hospital from 2014 – 2016.
Dr Agrawal has keen interest in improving perioperative care for patients undergoing liver transplant with a focus on coagulation management and renal outcome. Dr Loh May-Han is a Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist at National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital (AH), and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM), National University of Singapore (NUS).
Under the Academic Medicine Development Award, she completed her subspecialty fellowship in Obstetric Anaesthesia at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women in Western Australia. She has published local guidelines for expectant mothers, lectured and moderated on topics related to Obstetric Anaesthesia.
As Associate Chairman Medical Board for Medical Affairs – Medicolegal Matters, she is a pivotal leader in clinical risk management, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards in AH, a cluster member of the National University Health System (NUHS). She also serves as a Doctor Member of the Singapore Medical Council Complaints Panel.
Dr Loh is the Undergraduate Director for Anaesthesia at the NUS YLLSOM, where she is deeply involved in curriculum planning, lecturing, mentoring and examining medical students. Based on her contributions to medical education and feedback from her students, she has consistently been recognised with teaching commendations including the NUS Medicine Teaching Excellence Award, Dean's Awards for Teaching Excellence, and the NUHS Teaching Excellence Awards.
Dr Loh is an active member in Singapore's anaesthesia community. Dr Lie Sui An is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgical Intensive Care at Singapore General Hospital. Dr. Chan graduated from the University of Singapore with an MBBS in 1980 and completed his postgraduate degree in Anaesthesiology (M.Med Anaes) in 1987. He pursued a fellowship in Liver Transplant Anaesthesia at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, UK, and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1999.
He has served as Head of Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care at SGH, Director of the Post Graduate Medical Institute, and Clinical Associate Professor at both NUS and Duke-NUS Medical School. In January 2025, he was conferred the title of Emeritus Consultant (Anaesthesiology) at SGH-SingHealth.
A/Prof Chan is passionate about mentoring junior doctors and advancing clinical anaesthesia. His research interests include innovation in anaesthesia and airway management, supported by multiple academic and clinical research grants.
He has been awarded notable research grants, including the ACP Clinical & Systems Innovation Support Grant of S$25,000 for a project on viral filter use in side stream capnography sampling lines (2022–2023), and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Research Grant – Special Category (HSR-HEARTS) of S$20,000 for a study on endotracheal intubation using a Video Laryngeal Mask (VLM) (2023–2025).
Dr Michelle Tan Bee Hua

Dr Michelle Tan is pursuing a PhD with the Centre for Sustainable Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (YLLSoM, NUS), and is a practicing clinician at Changi General Hospital. Awarded the NMRC Research Training Fellowship, her doctoral research focuses on evaluating the carbon footprint of five acute care pathways in a Singapore hospital and modelling evidence-based mitigation strategies for emission reduction.
As a doctor and parent, Dr Tan is passionate about advancing sustainability in healthcare and fostering a data-driven culture within her hospital, where she also serves on the Steering Committee on Environmental Sustainability. She completed her medical studies at YLLSoM, NUS, and trained in Anaesthesiology under the SingHealth Residency Programme. She holds a Modular Masters certificate in Data Science (Healthcare) from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, and a certification in Carbon Footprinting through Life Cycle Analysis from A*STAR SIMTech.
She has spearheaded multiple sustainability initiatives to measure and reduce her hospital's carbon footprint, with an emphasis on anaesthesia care. Most notably, she led the successful decommissioning of her hospital's nitrous oxide manifold and transition to portable cylinders in operating theatres, with an innovative leak monitoring system. Dr Singaraselvan Nagarajan

Dr. Singaraselvan Nagarajan is a Senior Consultant and the Deputy Head of the Department of Women's Anaesthesia at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. After completing his MBBS from Government Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India, in 2002, he moved to the UK for further training.
He gained valuable experience in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine before enrolling in a Royal College of Anaesthetists Accredited training program. He passed FCARCSI (Dublin) in 2010. Dr. Nagarajan completed his Specialist Training in Anaesthesia from Birmingham School of Anaesthesia in 2015. With a special interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia, he trained in notable tertiary maternity centers, including Cardiff, Birmingham, and Singapore.
He completed a one-year advanced training fellowship in Obstetric Anaesthesia at KK Hospital, where he developed a keen interest in research on maternal cardiac output and obstetric hemorrhage. Additionally, he has completed advanced training in Airway Management and Healthcare Management.
He received the KKHHEF grant in 2016 for research on hypotension and angiotensin polymorphism and the SHF Grant in 2017 for the ADIVA study on minimizing hypotension during caesarean sections. Dr. Nagarajan is also an active educator, teaching at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and in the Singhealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program.
Dr Carolyn Chan

Dr Carolyn Chan is a Consultant Anaesthetist in the Department of Women's Anaesthesia at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. She trained and worked in the UK before relocating to Singapore in 2019, with previous Consultant Anaesthetist roles at Northwick Park Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital in London.

Dr Chan Wan Fen

Dr Chan Wan Fen received her medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2013, and subsequently attained her Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) in 2019. She completed her specialist training in Anaesthesiology in 2021, and her advanced specialist training in Intensive Care Medicine in 2023.

Dr Sanjay L Bajaj

Dr. Sanjay L. Bajaj (MBBS, MD, DNB, FRCA, EDRA) is a Senior Consultant Anaesthetist at Woodlands Health Campus, Singapore. He has a keen interest in regional anaesthesia, acute pain management, and trauma surgery.
He has contributed extensively to academic literature, co-authoring multiple book chapters and journal articles. Dr Christine Wong

Dr Christine Wong is currently a first-year senior resident in anaesthesia at the National University Health System. She is originally from Malaysia and completed her medical training at the University of Cambridge, where she obtained her MBBChir and Master of Arts, before moving to Singapore in 2018 to begin her housemanship.
Beyond clinical work, she has a strong interest in promoting departmental cohesion and staff well-being, as she believes that fostering these aspects ultimately enhances clinical communication and patient safety. To this end, she leads the FUN Special Interest Group in the department, through which the team organises fun activities such as bake sales and picnics to bring colleagues together outside of work.

Dr Yeoh Chuen Jye is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Singapore General Hospital and the inaugural Clinical Director of its Office of Human Factors & Ergonomics (OHFE). Together with the surgeons and multidisciplinary team in the Obesity and Metabolic Unit, SGH's bariatric value-driven care (VDC) team won the most improved VDC condition within SingHealth in 2024.
Dr Poh Pei Kee

Dr Poh Pei Kee is a consultant anaesthetist at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine with a distinction in medical science, and completed his anaesthesia training in the East Midlands School of Anaesthesia in the UK.
He currently chairs the operating theatre sustainability committee within his institution, and also leads the SSA sustainability special interest group. He is a recipient of the NEA EcoFriend Awards and was also granted the WFSA Fresenius Kabi Innovation Award for his environmental work. He hopes his 2 lovely daughters can inherit a world that they'll be able to enjoy, just as he did.

SNN Malkit Kaur

SNN Malkit Kaur is a Senior Nurse Manager currently serving at KK Women's and Children's Hospital, where she has been since 1997, Ms. Kaur has established herself as a pioneering force in perioperative nursing education and protocol development. Her significant contributions include developing the Nurse-led Discharge protocol for the Women's and Children's recovery room and establishing training programs for intradermal local anaesthesia administration.
Her academic credentials include a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education from NTU, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Curtin University, and specialist qualifications in Clinical Education and Perianaesthesia nursing. As a respected educator, she speaks at major healthcare conferences and contributes to the SingHealth Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing course.

Dr Chong Shin Yuet

Dr Chong Shin Yuet is the Director of Service for Paediatric Anaesthesia at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where she leads a dedicated team providing anaesthetic care for infants and children. As the SGH Campus Director for SIMS (Singhealth-Duke NUS Institute for Medical Simulation), she is committed to patient safety and clinical excellence, and is actively involved in simulation-based training, particularly for multidisciplinary teams.
Dr Pamela Chia

Dr Pamela Chia is a consultant anaesthetist in the Women's Anaesthesia department of KKH with more than 6 years of simulation and debriefing experience. As a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator(CHSE) and faculty at the SIMS Simulation Educators Training (SIMS SET) workshop, Dr Chia aspires to transform medical education simulation training through interprofessional education, collaborative practice and innovation. In 2021, her team won the AMEI Golden Apple Awards- Programme Excellence Award for their simulation project on Malignant Hyperthermia Preparedness through Interprofessional Education (MH-PIE).
At the Singhealth Duke-NUS Education Conference 2024, Dr Chia served as Chairperson and led a team of simulation educators in delivering an introductory debriefing workshop for about 30 healthcare professionals.
Her ongoing AMEI education grant- Escape room for inter-professional complex obstetric care, to date has a total of 44 participants from nursing, surgery and anaesthesia from 5 escape room sessions. Positive feedback has been received from participants for both her 2024 debriefing workshop and current Escape room project.
